“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Director of Photography Nando Del Rio on many occasions over 4 years, on shoots throughout the United States.
Nando was often my first call when filming single-camera documentary-style shoots for a hit cable TV show I directed and produced in the field. He has a good eye, lights well, and makes good aesthetic choices in the moment without the benefit of a location scout.
In addition to being a skilled and experienced DP, Nando has those “soft skills” so desired when shooting with on-camera non-professionals (i.e., real people rather than actors) something I always take into consideration when looking to fill that role.
Nando is talented, intuitive, and has a sense of humor. He is easy to work with on set, warm and approachable, and people like him. He has no problems taking direction from female directors, and he is a good communicator. I have seen his
diplomacy when collaborating with fellow creatives, and I respect him for that. Not every shoot goes perfectly, and even Nando and I have had some conflict in the field when, in one instance, I was booked a sound person who was not qualified for the particular role. I voiced my concerns and, frankly, some criticism to Nando when dealing with this situation. I really appreciated how he handled the conflict, respectfully and maturely, and I had no qualms about working with him going forward.
Having been a field director and producer on some 57 television productions over thirty years, I can tell you that working with Nando is always something I look forward to. Sincerely”

“I cannot recommend the gang at Spontaneous Films highly enough. I’ve worked in front of the camera and behind it for 50 years and can tell you that a good crew is very hard to find. The folks at Spontaneous Films work as a cohesive team and are incredibly professional every step of the way.”

“Nando Del Rio is not only “one of a kind” but he is also one of the best kind. I’ve been working professionally in show business for half a century and I have worked with Nando over the years in almost every possible situation …from snow to heat to thunderstorms and power outages and every single day he carried himself with the utmost professionalism. He always makes everyone around feel comfortable and delivers the best possible result while somehow managing to make sure everyone has a good time. His technical skills with the camera are top notch, but that’s just the beginning of the production value you get with Nando… the rest is the gray area that separates the good ones from the great ones. Confidence, leadership, guidance, coaching, logistics, lack of complaining, and a smile you can see a mile away… Those are the things that make Nando Del Rio the best. Period…Full stop
